The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), on Tuesday, paraded 4 suspects who specialize in the production of fake currency note, both in naira and CFA.
Parading the suspects, the State NSCDC, Commandant, Muhammad Saleh Dada, said they include, 30 years old Tasiu Jelani; 20 years old Yusuf Aminu; 32 years old Shamsu Sanusi and 30 years old Isiya Umar.
According to Saleh Dada, the suspects specialized in producing fake naira and CFA notes whilst circulating same counterfeits to defraud innocent traders. Exhibits found on them include five million naira and another 2 million CFA.
Giving insight into the arrest, the NDCSC Commandant said it was as a result of credible intelligence by his men in the Sokoto North division.
While noting that the suspects will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation, a statement by the Command spokesperson, DSC Hamza Adamu Illela, quoted the Commandant as appealing to members of the public to be weary of such people in their midst. NNL.
