President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Mr Mustapha Isah, on Wednesday, led some Executive Officers and members of the Editor's body on a condolence visit to the Asokoro, Abuja headquarters of Daar Communications Limited, to commiserate with the management and family of the founder and Chairman of the broadcast company, High Chief Raymond Alegho Dokpesi, who died on monday.
Dokpesi, said to have been in ailing condition recently, finally passed on on Monday, May 29, 2023, at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, after allegedly suffering from a stroke attack.
The NGE boss, Isah, had, in his delegation for the sympathy visit, the Secretary General, Dr Iyobosa Uwugiaren and the National Treasurer, Mr Steve Nwosu.
Other members of the Editor's Guild who were in the delegation are: Mr Eze Anaba, Editor of the Vanguard Newspaper (Daily title) and a Presidential aspirant of the NGE in the June 16 Biennial Elective Convention of the Nigerian Editors slated to hold in Owerri, Imo state capital, South East, Nigeria.
Former Editor of the old Daily Times (Sunday title) and current General Manager of an Owerri based radio station, Ms Angela Agoawike and Mr Soni Daniel, a Deputy Editor of the Vanguard Newspaper in charge of Abuja and the Northern Region, were also part of the condolence visitation.
A former NGE National Vice President (North), Mallam Suleiman Uba Gaya and some other members of the Guild from the Northern Zone were also in the delegation.
The NGE sympathisers were received at the Daar Communications office by the Group Managing Director, Mr Tony Alegbe Akiotu, including Mr Adebayo Bodurin, a Director of News and Political Affairs of the broadcast company and other executive management members. NNL.
