Hundreds of families displaced by bandit attacks in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State are currently taking refuge at Central Primary School in Kashere, Gombe.

The victims, mostly women and children from Gwana, Mansur, Digare and adjoining communities, fled their homes after armed bandits stormed their villages, destroying property and forcing residents into exile.

During a visit to the temporary camp, Governor Bala Mohammed sympathised with the displaced families and announced a ₦50 million relief donation alongside truckloads of food supplies to ease their suffering.

He commended the host community for its generosity, describing the people of Kashere as compassionate and supportive in providing shelter and food for the displaced.

The governor assured the victims that efforts were underway to restore security in their communities to enable their safe and dignified return.

Also speaking, the Emir of Pindiga, Muhammad Seyoji Ahmed, and Akko LGA Chairman, Ɗalladi Adamu, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the displaced families during their stay. NNL.
