The Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO) has declared August 8 as “Dr. Bala Wunti Global Impact Day” in recognition of the humanitarian contributions and community development initiatives of Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti.

 

The organisation said the annual observance would celebrate Dr. Wunti’s role in advancing education, healthcare, youth empowerment, women development, entrepreneurship and poverty alleviation across various communities.

Announcing the initiative, BWSO Chief Executive Officer, Mukhtar Jarmajo, described the declaration as a deserved recognition of a leader whose interventions have positively impacted thousands of lives.

According to him, Dr. Wunti’s programmes have restored hope to vulnerable individuals and provided opportunities for economic and social advancement.

“Across communities, we have witnessed individuals move from hardship to prosperity through his support, mentorship and empowerment programmes. His commitment to humanity continues to inspire a generation of leaders and change-makers,”Jarmajo said.

He added that the annual event would not only celebrate Dr. Wunti’s achievements but also encourage citizens and organisations to embrace values of compassion, service and sustainable development.
