After going into self-isolation due to his close and physical contact with personalities who have tested positive for Covid-19 during his recent official trips, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, says he was finally tested and found to be negative for Coronavirus.

He said during the period of his self-isolation, he was subjected to repeated tests by relevant agencies with a view to ascertain his true status as required by the Covid-19 prevention protocols.

"It is with gratitude to Almighty Allah, that I inform the general public, particularly the good people of Sokoto State, that the outcome of the several tests I have gone through have all been negative," says the Governor.

In a statement released by the Governor himself, he expressed his gratitude to his Deputy, Hon Manir Muhammad Dan'iya, Walin Sokoto, for ably holding his seat, while he was in self-isolation and going through the mandatory procedures of determining his status.

The Governor while tested negative of the dreaded virus, further expressed his special appreciation to his Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, for his fatherly support and guidance throughout the period, and the clergy for their supplications towards his good health and safety.

"I am grateful to members of my family, associates, friends, well-wishers and the good people of Sokoto State and the nation at large, for their goodwill, prayers, and sympathy", he averred.

"I wish to reiterate my call on the people to support the good and selfless work of relevant Covid-19 Agencies within and outside the state, by adhering to all prescribed practices and protocols for the prevention of the further spread of the dreaded pandemic", Tambuwal stated.

He however prayed Allah (SWT) to protect and heal those already affected and forgive those who died as a result of the Covid-19 and other natural causes. NNL.
