In furtherance of activities outlined for the National Police Day 2026, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, on Tuesday, led officers and men of the Command on a walkathon across major roads within Enugu metropolis.

The leadership of the Enugu State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) also participated in the exercise.

The walking exercise, which was the activity slated for Day 3 of the celebration, according to the Enugu Police Command's Spokesman, SP Dan Ndukwe, was also held simultaneously in Nsukka and Udenu Area Commands, with members of the public actively participating.

The Commissioner of Police appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc, for the well-planned activities lined up to mark the National Police Day 2026. He emphasized the importance of physical exercise for human health and fitness, assuring that walkathons and similar activities would be made an integral part of the Command’s social and wellness initiatives.

Meanwhile, the National Police Day 2026 celebration continues on Wednesday, 1st April 2026, with sensitization campaigns on election security and electoral offences, as well as safe driving practices and adherence to traffic regulations, across the Command’s Area Commands and Divisions. NNL.
