As part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration, the Anambra State Police Command, on Tuesday being the second day of the event, undertook a walkathon aimed at promoting physical fitness and strengthening police-community relations.

The fitness walk, which commenced from the Command Headquarters in Awka, saw the participation of the Management team of the Command, other police officers alongside members of the public, demonstrating unity, cooperation, and a shared commitment to healthy living.

The exercise further underscores the Command’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of its personnel while fostering closer ties with the community in line with the principles of community policing.

Spokesman of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a brief statement that the Command appreciates members of the public who joined the exercise and reiterates its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the State. NNL.
