Following the public outrage which trailed the entry of controversial politician, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) last week, members of the APC are already spoiling for a protest action against President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of the party should Fani Kayode be considered for an appointment in the APC administration.

A Chieftain of the APC in Taraba State, Chief Ben Adaji, gave this hint at the weekend in Jalingo, Taraba State capital, during an interview with NIGERIAN NEWS-LEADER Correspondent. Adaji said that a great majority of the APC members across the country are downright unhappy with the defection of Fani Kayode to the party with the approval of the leadership of the APC.

Chief Adaji also stated that he would personally mobilize the APC youths to protest against President Muhammadu Buhari if he ever considers giving an appointment to Femi-Fani Kayode. He strongly expressed his aversion to the APC extending any patronage gesture to Fani Kayode or giving him any special treatment in the party on account of his defection.

The party chieftain cautioned the APC to be weary of Fani Kayode, describing him as a "serial betrayal". He recalled that the same politician left the APC at it's infantile stage and crossed over to PDP in 2014 and starting castigating the APC as an Islamic party that had a mission to Islamise Nigerians and inflict pains on them.

Adaji who aspired for the House of Representatives in Anpka, Olamaboro and Omala Federal Constituency in Kogi state in 2015 and 2019, also recalled that Chief Femi Fani Kayode, from 2014 till his defection to APC a second time last week, had disparaged President Muhammadu Buhari with venomous intensity, using unfriendly adjectives such as, "wicked man", dead man", "draconian leader", and a "dictatorial president" , among other such uncomplimentary adjectives

The APC chieftain however wondered why the same Fani Kayode would go to the Presidential Villa to have a handshake with the same president that was "dead, deceitful, wicked, anti-democratic and incompetent", among others.

Adaji, a veteran journalist, therefore advised the president to consider those party members who had been consistent in building and growing the success of the party at all occasions.

"It's unfortunate that Femi Fani Kayode will vomit and still swallow his vomit. He has fought the APC to a standstill using derogatory words against the party. I am advising Mr president against absorbing decampees who do not mean well for APC, who are rather in the party today for destruction in which Kayode is one of them.

"I am advising Mr President to consider those members who had been loyal and committed to the growth and success of the party at all times for appointments, rather than a basket mouth Kayode who can only survive where there is Gold for him to mine. I will have no option than to mobilise APC youths from all the 36 states to protest against the president if he considers Fani Kayode for any appointment,' Adaji warned.

According to the APC chieftain, there are hundreds of APC loyalists who have worked for the survival of the party, including spending their hard earned resources since 2014 and who have never been considered for any appointment.

"Just like several others, I have spent over N20 million on campaign and purchase of nomination forms to contest for the House of Representatives in my Omala, Olamaboro and Ankpa Federal Constituency and after that, somebody was imposed on us. There was no compensation in form of appointment either from the state or the federal government.

Adaji also said in the spirit of fairness and justice, those that have sufficiently protected the interest of the party should be considered for appointments and privileges first before people like Femi Fani kayode. NNL.
