The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Bauchi state has distributed some basic tools as starter packs to 26 trainees under its Environmental Beautification Training Scheme.

Speaking during the disbursement exercise being organised at the agency's head office on Wednesday in Bauchi, the state Coordinator of NDE, Mr Lawan Yaya, said that the exercise is taking place simultaneously in 12 states across the country.

He explained that the gesture was one of the promises made by the Director General of NDE, Malam Nuhu Fikpo towards ensuring that all the trainees have received his/her working tools after the training to go into the proper business.

According to him, the training was divided into three segments comprising of soft landscaping, hard landscaping and horticulture whereby 26 trainees were trained on such skills.

"Today, we've launched the official disbursement of basic working tools for the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme in NDE here in Bauchi.

"After the training, the NDE Director General, Nuhu Fikpo and the management were magnanimous enough to purchase basic equipment and tools for these trainees to go into proper business in the market," he said.

Yaya, however, used the opportunity to sound a warning to the beneficiaries on the need to go for the businesses as planned and never think of selling out the equipment at the market.

"We are begging that they should please try as much as possible to make very good use of these equipment so that they can become employers of labour," said the Coordinator.

In appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries, Aminu Musa, appreciated the NDE for investing in the youths to become independent in the future.

Musa, who expressed happiness over the gesture, called on NDE to further extend the gesture to others.
