To save the state health insurance scheme from imminent collapse, Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered the immediate recall of Dr Niyi Oginni from suspension.
A statement on Monday by his spokesman, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, said the recall was premised on the review of the report of the Contract and MOU Committee as well as the disturbing reports of imminent collapse of the state health insurance scheme.
The decision was also linked to the need to comply with public service regulations which stipulated procedures and conditions for discipline and management of public servants.
Governor Adeleke further directed the recalled Executive Secretary to normalize the operations of the insurance scheme by ensuring continuous patronage of the scheme by hospitals across Osun state.
The recall of Dr Oginni from suspension takes immediate effect.
Meanwhile, school principals in Osun state under the auspices of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Osun State Chapter has congratulated governor Adeleke on the Appeal Court Judgement last week which upheld his victory as elected governor of the state.
A congratulatory message by the leadership of the group under the chairmanship of Pastor Akinropo Emmanuel Ijaodola, described the governor's administration as a 'people friendly' government.
The statement reads: "The entire member of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Osun State, the entire Secondary school staff and students under the Leadership of Pastor Akinropo Emmanuel Ijaodola warmly and heartly rejoice with our loving, people friendly and ever happy Governor, on your well-deserved Victory that was confirmed by Court of Appeal, Abuja last week 24th March, 2023.
"We return all the glory to God that despite all odds, opposing powers and influence, your mandate was confirmed. We pray that God will support you, be with you and give you a successful tenure in office in good and sound health in Jesus name.
