The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Niger state command said it has arrested a Sharon vehicle in Suleja local government area loaded with; 50, 000 tablets of Diazipan, 30,000 Ifnux tablets, 5, 406 bottles of Codeine syrup and 5,100 tablets of Tramadol.

State Commander, Shehu Numau Gwadaba disclosed this while giving an update on the major successes recorded by the Command between January and December 2025.

Shehu also hinted that in the first week of December 2025, NDLEA operatives intercepted a Mercedes truck loaded with (44) bags of Cannabis Sativa weighing over 400kg in Mokwa local government area and the driver of the vehicle also arrested.

He said, "There was a single time we seized over 3 tones of Cannabis, arrested four persons and four vehicles. When they were taken to court each of them was jailed for 10 years because what was recovered from them was huge; 244 bags over 3, 000 Kgs".

The Commander also hinted that his personnel made another seizure in Borgu local council which included, 11 bags of Cannabis Sativa, quantities of Tramadol.

Borgu local government is one of the areas that has issues of armed banditry, he said, adding that the criminals who largely depended on drugs as inducement to carryout their activities, so dealers would like to channel substances there.

Shehu further explained that, "The Command arrested one Theophilus Ordo in Suleja with Cocaine, Cannabis and Cough Syrups and others, it is quite worrisome".

While appreciating the support and corporation of the general public, the Commander enjoined those engaged in drug activities to quit as the long arm of the law will catch up with them wherever they are hiding in the state if they fail to turn a new leaf. NNL.
