Main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger has lost one of its prominent figure, Engineer Abdullahi Isah Jankara and his teeming supporters to another opposition, African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Isah Jankara, one of the PDP governorship aspirants in the 2023 general election in Niger state disclosed his movement to the ADC at what he described as his last stakeholders' meeting with the PDP at his Baban Gwari in Birinin Maza Tashibo Ward in Lapai Local Government Area.
The former PDP pillars in Niger state that he realized with political situation in Nigeria that the nation's only alternative hope to end APC's maladministration causing hunger and hardship in the next dispensation is found in the ADC, hence his recent move.
While urging the electorates to have a rethink and make informed decision after what have been witnessed in the hand of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Jankara lamented that the ruling party have disappointed Nigerians with misrule, causing more division amongst the nation's over 200 ethnic nationalities.
The ruling APC instilled and glorified hardship, corruption, insecurity in addition to betraying the confidence reposed in them by the Nigerian populace, and therefore called on Nigerian's to join the ADC to save the state and Nigeria generally from the ruling party's deceitful tendencies.
The former PDP strong man who is also served as the immediate past State Controller of the defunct Department of Petroleum Resources (DPRs) said he is defecting with his supporters after due consultations with critical stakeholders of the party.
Meanwhile, Isah Jankara an interview shortly after the event declared his intentions to contest for Niger state governorship election come 2027.
With his burning desire to end frustrations and hunger, Isah Jankara said he cannot continue to be in the PDP that is surrounded by leaches who claim to belong to the PDP in the daytime but run to the APC at nights with deliberate political gimmick of causing further harm to the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former PDP stalwart who said he is moving to the ADC with over 1, 500 supporters and well-wishers, expressed optimism that the ADC will lead Nigeria and her citizenry out of government inflicted poverty, hardship caused by administrative policy summersault.
With trust and genuine integration, the former DPRs helmsman in Niger state said the ADC will bring genuine positive change of massive infrastructural and human development not only to Niger state but at the national level.
In a short remark, Chairman of the PDP in Lapai LGA, Bello Abubakar Ebbo explained that political party is not religion and therefore, anyone whose interest is not satisfied by the ongoing restructuring in PDP is free to align him/herself with any other political party of interest. NNL.
