Pa Simon Ekele Unwanaji, father of the Editor of LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER, Mr Peter Agbo Ekele, passes on at age 80.
Pa Ekele Unwanaji, according to a family statement by his son, Peter Ekele, died in Benue state on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born on September 3, 1944, in Idiri Okpoga, Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, North Central, Nigeria.
The family's public statement on the death of their Octogenarian patriarch, stated thus: "It is with deep sadness, but gratitude to God Almighty, that we announce the passing of Pa Simon Ekele Unwanaji, which occured on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He died after a brief illness at the age of 80. Pa Simon was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
"Pa Simon was born on September 3, 1944, in Idiri Okpoga, Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State. He was a devout Christian who lived for the love of God and what was just. He was a role model to many in his community and beyond.
"He is survived by his wife, six children, and 21 grandchildren, among whom is the Editor of LEADERSHIP, Peter Agbo Ekele, who will miss him dearly. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
"Pa Simon will be laid to rest on December 13, 2024, in his hometown, Idris Okpoga. The family requests privacy during this difficult time. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and the community". NNL .
