Bauchi State has recorded significant financial gains following a payroll and human resource reform exercise that has saved the state several billions of naira in just one year.
The exercise, conducted by Onyx Investment Advisory Limited, addressed long-standing payroll irregularities by sanitising the wage structure of the state’s civil service.
According to the firm’s Managing Director, Aisha Yakubu Bako, the reform introduced a transparent and accountable payment system that eliminated ghost workers and other anomalies.
Governor Bala Mohammed said the savings would be channelled towards critical development projects and improved service delivery for residents of the state.
He stressed that prudent management of public resources remains a top priority of his administration.
However, observers have described the reform as a major boost to Bauchi State’s economic sustainability and fiscal discipline. NNL.
