Former Minister of Transport and one of the candidates that recently contested the gubernatorial primaries in the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto state, Yusuf Suleiman, has affirmed that the seat of Caliphate state is one hundred percent behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Suleiman, defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the PDP shortly after failing to clinch his party's tickets.
The former minister, Suleiman, was appointed the 2023 Sokoto State Director General of the governorship Campaign by the incumbent governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of the PDP.
Addressing newsmen shortly after inaugurating, Stakeholders meeting of the PDP at Giginya hotels, Yusuf Suleiman, said if elections are conducted a million times in Sokoto, the PDP will still win.
Giving reasons for his assertion, Suleiman said, "Our confidence is driven by the fact that, our people are hundred percent with us. Democracy is about people and once you know your people are outrightly behind you, then you have no fear over any election.
"Even if election is conducted a million times in Sokoto state, PDP will win one hundred percent insha'allah. That therefore explains why I kept saying that this 2023, our prayers and hope are that God willing, PDP will not miss a single contestable seat".
Talking on the national space, the former two-time minister under the PDP administration said Atiku Abubakar of the PDP will defeat all others with landslide victory come 2023.
"'PDP will win the Presidential, Gubernatorial and clear all the 3 Senatorial districts of Sokoto, all the 11 House of Representatives position and all the 30 members of the State House of Assembly come 2023.
''This is our target and by the grace of Allah, it is achievable. Losing a single election is not an option".
On their strategies for actualizing the goals, he said it is simply going back to those who put them there before who are still ready and willing to put them there again.
''And I am hundred percent confident that if there was any marriage between the Sokoto people and the APC before, it is now hundred percent divorced. It is a chaotic divorce.
While insisting that Sokoto people no longer want to have anything to d APC, Suleiman, the campaign DG, said they have a presidential candidate that is in his right frame of mind and senses.
""Our greatest selling point is that the PDP itself believe in democracy. Believes in empowering the people, and our candidates are better than others. Look at all of them. Take them head to head in comparison to others on both side right from the Presidential to governorship, you will know that we have fielded the best candidates .
"'Out presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the Wazirin Adamawa, is the most competent amongst all. He was a vice President for 8 years. A successful business man, someone who is in his right senses and the most experienced of the lots. He has been around politics for along time and understands how to chat and effectively execute road maps to a greater prosperous country.
"This he can achieve and lots more because he is very much in his senses. You have never heard him missed calling PDP as APC, or have you? And that should tell you something about someone with mental stability"".
The essence of the stakeholders meeting, according to Yusuf Suleiman, is to interface with the leaders of the various councils, wards, committees, and political. NNL.
