The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Taraba State chapter, has condemned, in strong terms, last Tuesday's bomb explosion that rocked the Iware community in Ardokola local government area of Taraba state, which led to the loss of lives and properties with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
CAN in a press release issued by its state Chairman, Rev Dr. Isaiah Magaji Jirapye, however, observed that the Federal Government is not doing enough to win the fight against terrorism in the country, as each day, the terrorist keep on advancing.
To this end, CAN want the Federal government to immediately adopt workable strategies against any form of a terrorist organization in the country and stop their migration. CAN also lamented that several of the terrorists have migrated to Taraba State.
The Christian body called on the government at all levels to beef up security in the states against the activities of terrorists since ISWAP claimed the responsibility for the attack.
CAN however urged the government to work in earnest with intelligence agencies to uncover those behind the Iware explosion and bring them to justice.
It also condemned the recent attack by suspected Fulani militias in the Kwentwen community in the Ussa Local government area of Taraba State where several lives were lost and properties destroyed.
CAN however condoled with the families of the bereaved in the attacks and also sympathized with the injured.
It urged the residents of the state to join hands with the government and security agents to check the activities of the terror group. CAN also enjoin the people of Taraba to watch out against bad elements and report suspicious characters in their midst to the security agents. NNL.
