The Department of State Services (DSS), on Thursday, said that a proper security search on the residence and office of detained Mallam Tukur Mamu, the Abuja-Kaduna train hostage negotiator, revealed startling discoveries and incriminating materials.

The DSS, in a brief statement on Thursday evening, September 8, 2022 by it's reputation handler, Peter Afunnanya Ph.D, said the valid search warrant executed on Tukur Mamu shows military accoutrements, large amount of money in different currency denominations as well as curious financial transaction instruments, were found and recovered from him.

Dr Afunnanya assured that further investigations will continue and that "Mamu will, sure, have a day in court".

Mallam Tukur Mamu who is said to be the Publisher of Desert Herald newspaper, is a self-proclaimed Kaduna Train hostage negotiator. The State Security has described him as a " person of interest" and a wanted man by the Nigerian government.

According to the DSS on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, Mamu was allegedly intercepted by Nigeria’s foreign partners at Cairo, Egypt on 6th September, 2022 while on his way to Saudi Arabia. He was promptly returned to the country, same day and taken into the State Security custody for further interrogation and search. NNL.
