The National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) has denied that the institute is holding any award ceremony today, Saturday, April.10, 2021, or anytime soon.
This refutation was contained in a brief statement at the weekend by the Spokesman of the Department of State Services (DSS), Dr. Peter Afunnanya. He specifically urged the public and indeed the stakeholders to disregard any invitation extended to them for the purposes of such an award event.
Dr Afunnanya revealed that the Institute is "presently occupied with its Executive Intelligence Management Course 14 (EIMC-14) themed: GOVERNANCE, SECURITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA: NEXUS, CHALLENGES, AND PROSPECTS".
The DSS reputation manager however warned members of the public to be "wary of false invitations and efforts by some desperate persons and groups to deceive them", adding that the "NISS will always and appropriately advertise its programs and events on its website nissngeria.gov.ng and other mainstream media platforms and channels", Afunnanya stated.
