The Buhari Media Organization (BMO), has praised the Federal Government’s quick response to the Kankara students' abduction, saying it is the main factor that ensured that the matter did not escalate, but helped in the successful rescue of the abducted boys.
Expressing its joy at the release of all the abducted pupils of Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina State, the BMO gave kudos to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian military for a job well done.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke, BMO commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and the President who did not hesitate before he took actions that have ultimately led to the rescue and release of the Kankara Boys.
“We saw the response rate and deployment capacity of the security forces that led to the rescue of the boys. It is indicative of how President Buhari has been managing the Nigerian state: with diligence and focus, not noisemaking.
“President Buhari is a leader that believes in action and not rhetorics. He focuses on getting results, and he, most often than not, gets it.
“It was due to the immediacy of response that the threat to the lives of the boys was mitigated and their rescue made possible.
“The boys were released without payment of ransom because the government stood in a position of strength; the abductors were located, surrounded, and stalemated. They had no choice but to surrender the children to the Nigerian Armed Forces.
“It further shows that the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security personnel who worked in synergy were motivated to carry out their functions. If they had not worked so fast and cordoned the forest where the boys were initially kept, we may not have gotten them back this swiftly.
“This is another reason to commend the Nigerian military under the able command of President Buhari. The military has continued to show capacity despite multiple fronts engagements. We, Nigerians should continue to trust and appreciate our military.”
BMO stated that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) shamefully attempted to make political capital of the unfortunate event.
“For the PDP, it was like dancing naked in the public space with the comic protest they held. As they shamelessly walked the streets of Abuja, the shadows of the Chibok girls walked with them—a reminder of their ineptitude and utter cluelessness when they were in government.
“It is unfortunate that PDP elements thought that the easiest route to sell themselves to the Nigerian people was to capitalize on the abduction of these children. Unfortunately for them, their plans have fallen flat like a pack of cards", the statement added. NNL.
