A 30 year-old man, Buba Amadu Gudan Bunu of Jamali council ward in Binji local government area, Sokoto State, has allegedly matcheted his wife to death, locals confirm.
Bunu was said to have fled the village after allegedly committing the crime.
Though, efforts to unearth what actually transpired that led to such brutality could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report. But sources, however noted that, it might be case of domestic violence taken too far.
Commenting on the ugly incident, a Gender Based Violence Surveillance Response Team member in the area who preferred anonimty, said Bunu's action is not only condemnable but also abominable.
According to him, no degree of spousal provocation should warrant assault not to talk of killing one's own wife.
Responding to the development, some of the locals said such bizzaire incidences attracts wrath to he family of the perpetrator.
Efforts to get confirmation from the police at the time of filing this report proved unsuccessful. However, a local said search is ongoing to apprehend the alleged perpetrator. NNL.
