Nigeria's Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has assured that the new year 2025 will be marked by transformative victories in all the Army's operational theatres across the country.

The CDS while appreciating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving the Army the necessary executive support and resources to carry out the anti-insurgency and security tasks in the nation, warned that the Army will continue to take decisive actions against enemies of the country and those harbouring criminal elements.

Gen. Musa further assured that the Nigeria Army is resolute in their determination to only combat but also overcome all security threat in every part of the country.

General Musa who made the declaration in Sokoto where he equally appealed to Nigerians to also cooperate with security agencies by giving vital information. He urged the media not to give the bad eggs the oxygen to breath.

""The recent deployment of the Special Operations Brigade and some combat enablers to dislodge and eliminate the re-emergence of Lakurawas’ terrorists from their camps in Sokoto and Kebbi states, and the successes so far achieved is a testament to our commitment to resolving and combating all security threats across the theatres of operations''.

Soaking at the 8 Division, Nigeria Army Headquarters, Giginya Barracks, shortly after a special Christmas launch with the troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the CDS appreciated security agencies for their selfless services to the nation despite inherent challenges.

To the troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the CDS says, ''Your daily commitment to duty in the field remains a source of inspiration to us all and further exemplifies the true spirit of patriotism required for defeating the threats to our nation’s peace and stability.'''.

While stressing that the Armed Forces under his leadership will continue to sustain its operational tempo and posture across military deployments both home and abroad, General Musa paid salute to those who have paid the sacrifices for the nation, adding, their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten as they will continue to support their families.

Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the General Officer Commander 8 Division, Nigeria Army and Commander Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, said the recent promotion of personnel in the division has lifted their morales to even do more in the protection of the nation.

While expressing appreciation to the CDS for his continued support to the army, the GOC also salute the gallantry of the troops, saying ''their courage, resilience and professionalism.as well as unwavering commitment to duty has been instrumental in the successes recorded in Operation FASAN YAMMA"*.

Continuing, the GOC, Maj. Gen. Ajose paid glowing tributes to his fallen colleagues, adding their sacrifices will never be in vain, and that their memory will forever inspire them to carry on the mission with renewed vigor and determination.

He also thanked the troops who sustained injuries in the course of the ongoing operations and are currently undergoing treatment, stressing "'together, we will continue to overcome challenges and achieve greater milestone in quest for peace and security"".

Dignitaries at the occasion include the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar 111, represented by the Sayin Kilgori, Muhammad Jabi Kilgori, heads of various military and para military security agencies as well as wounded troops. NNL.
