In his burning desire towards speedily bringing an end to the worrisome spate of insecurity that has bedeviled Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi States, the newly posted Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in Charge of Zone 10, AIG Bello Dalijan, said synergy with all relevant stakeholders is required to halt the trend.
As a proof of his seriousness for this synergy, AIG Dalijan, paid a familiarization visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in Sokoto, Major General Uwem Bassey.
The zonal police boss said that having been newly deployed to the zone, he deemed it necessary and in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to visit all other sister security agencies in the states in other to forge formidable synergy towards ending all forms of criminality from Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States, respectively.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the visit in his Zone 10 Headquarter office, Sokoto, AIG Dalijan appealed to all and sundry to also avail the security agencies with useful information that will lead to a crime free society for all.
“As you all know, it is in line of duty that once you are deployed to another area of responsibility, one has to familiarise himself with the terrain. Police are the key players and stakeholders in fighting crime and criminality and the military are our partners in progress.
“So, that is why I had to visit the Army GOC, to synergize and discuss with him areas of collaboration in line with our collective mandate of fighting crime and criminality in our area".
The new Zone 10 AIG however assured, on the optimistic note, the security agencies will overcome these enemies of humanity - bandits, kidnappers and criminals, and come out stronger. NNL.
