Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, a close associate of Nigeria's celebrated Nollywood actress, Tonto Dike, has fired angry broadsides at the ex-boyfriend of the thespian, Prince Kpokpogiri, over his alleged mastermind of a leaked audio recording of Tonto allegedly begging him not to leave her after he had accused the actress of cheating on him.
Soon after, the audio leak generated a lot of public outrage and condemnation of Kpokpogiri, especially by fans of the sultry actress who swiftly rose to her defense and sympathy. They however accused the ex-boyfriend of the actress of being behind the alleged audio recordings which were viewed as an orchestrated humiliation and disrespect of Tonto.
Prince Kpokpogri had revealed, in what seemed like self-defense and justification, that the actress and mother of one, had cheated on him right from the beginning of their love affair. He reportedly claimed that their three monthly old affairs was a living hell and that he’s being used as the victim of blackmail.
According to reports, Kpokpogri also accused Tonto Dike of sleeping with someone else in Lagos, adding that the actress was allegedly caught in the act, but she begged him passionately for a second chance. Some days after he made the revelation, leaked audio of Tonto crying and begging him not to leave her began to trend online.
But a thoroughly heartbroken and distraught Tonto Dike came out to deny every accusation of infidelity against her. She described Kpokpogiri's allegations as pure blackmail and clearly out of sync with morality and good conscience.
While reacting in a post on her Instagram account, Tonto described the audio as an "old" stuff. She assured her fans that she has already called it quits in her relationship with Kpokpogiri after listening to the said leaked audio tapes of Kpokpogiri humiliating her.
Tonto Dike wrote this on her Instagram page: “My dearest fans, the illegally recorded and leaked voice recording of a private conversation by Prince Kpokpogri making the rounds on the internet was in the past and had absolutely nothing to do with the recent.
“I appreciate your concerns. I’m doing perfectly okay and in one peace. Be rest assured that every blackmailer will be brought to justice. It is the law and I’m at peace knowing that the law will take its course.
“Like I will always say, the only valid conversation is congratulations because Jesus saved me. Thanks for your concern and love,” she said.
However, in a 10-paragraph open letter to Kpokpogiri on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, and forwarded to NIGERIAN NEWS-LEADER, Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, a seasoned Journalist among Tonto's inner circle of friends, expressed shock and disbelief at what she described as Prince Kpokpogiri's "recent shenanigan on social media" regarding his ex-girlfriend, Tonto Dikeh.
She chided Kpokpogiri, who, she said, is himself a Journalist, for indulging in "utterly tasteless, disappointing and disgusting" misdemeanor, adding that "blackmailing is not only against the ethics of Journalism, it's also a crime".
Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello's letter reads thus:
"OPEN LETTER TO PRINCE KPOKPOGIRI
"Dear Prince Kpokpogiri,
"I am writing you this letter from a place of shock and unbelief at your recent shenanigan on social media regarding your ex-girlfriend, Tonto Dikeh.
"To think you claimed to be one of us – a journalist, is utterly tasteless, disappointing, and disgusting, to say the least. Blackmailing is not only against the ethics of Journalism, it's also a crime.
"Recording a conversation for mischief, blackmail, extortion, and evil vices is not okay, not at all. It all seems like a planned work, who sent you, who connived with you to set Tonto up, is this how you want to gain social media followers, how were you trained, are you truly a man, will you ever be trusted by another woman again, is this how you plan to clout chase, do you believe in Karma? I have a thousand and one questions to ask you, Prince Kpokpogiri.
"Prince Kpokpogiri, you went as far as releasing personal conversations between you and Tonto Dikeh while you were dating, I couldn’t stand the audio for more than 1 minute, in as much as I am not interested in your personal relationship with her, I think you went too far, you did her dirty and it is obvious you were acting to a script by your co-conspirators. You disgraced the word, manhood. You never truly loved her and shouldn't have gone close to her son - a boy she guides and protects with all of her.
"Not long ago, Tonto just came out of a bad divorce, I have seen her broken and watched her recover, been there during her low and high, she has worked really hard on herself to be a better person, she is really trying her best – imperfect like the rest of us. I am one of the silent and intentionally invisible people in Tonto’s circle, I don’t need clout in my life and do not need social media validation to exist (so you know). All you said about her is not the true definition of the strong, smart, imperfect, and amazing woman that she is.
"A good parent, too straightforward and too blunt for a lot of people! She has been betrayed by close associates, misunderstood, and yet, she is standing strong. Not everyone with balls should be addressed as a man!
"Prince Kpokpogiri, this too shall pass, you do not win, you lose – do not rejoice, just yet! Tonto is a strong woman, she can only bend, she cannot break. Tonto will bounce back, as always. You and the people cheering you on in private will soon crawl back to your coven. Enjoy your 2 weeks of fame while it lasts, she always laughs last!
