Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
The anti-graft Commission issued a public notice on Bello on Thursday, April 18, 2024, just 24 hours after operatives of the Commission invaded his residence at Wise, Abuja, to effect his arrest.
The EFCC said Yahaya Bello is wanted by the Commission for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion.
Bello reportedly absconded from his residence in Abuja to an unknown location ostensibly to evade EFCC's arrest. He was said to have been taken away by his political godson and the incumbent governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Usman Ododo. Unconfirmed report said he was hidden at the Government House in Lokoja.
The Commission said "anybody with information as to his whereabout should please report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station". NNL.
