No fewer than 14 Corps members have been tested positive to Covid 19 in Sokoto, Dr. Muhammad Ali Inname has said.
Dr. Inname who is the State Commissioner for Health, and Chairman Task Force on Covid 19 made this disclosure while giving an update on the pandemic in Sokoto
Though Inname assured that all the affected Corps members are receiving medical attention at one of the State isolation centers, he however added that 19,557 persons have so far been tested in Sokoto with 787 confirmed positive.
While stating that 28 death were recorded in the State from Covid 19, Dr. Inname assured that they are not relenting in their task towards ensuring sound health for everybody in the State.
Reacting to the development, the State Public Relations Officer of NYSC, Malam Sani Idris, said he was not aware of such development, as according to him, all Corps members on camp were subjected to the Covid-19 test before allowing them into the camp.
Other Corps members who spoke to Nigerian NewsLeader correspondents on grounds of anonymity also said they were not aware that anybody was confirmed positive hence they were not told. NNL.
