Rising from a 2021 policy meeting of the board this Tuesday in Abuja, the authorities of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has resolved to adopt the minimum cut-off marks for the 2021 admissions already forwarded to it by the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education schools in Nigeria.
Among the resolutions at the meeting, is that JAMB will not set a uniform cut-off marks by itself for the 2021/2022 admissions for the institutions.
According to the JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, in the new arrangement, the universities will not allowed by the exam body to go below 120, while polytechnics and colleges of education will also not go below 100 in the admission of candidates.
JAMB also agreed at the meeting, that the total fee for the Post-UTME (Post – Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) fee should not exceed two thousand naira (N2,000) only. The JAMB Registrar however strictly warned the institutions not to go beyond the N2,000 pegged fee.
“Nobody should charge more than N2,000. The total gross is N2, 000. It is not allowed by institutions to allow candidates to procure administrative charges. No institution is allowed to capture or demand any result upload. It is the one that we upload on caps that we will be send to all of you. The biometrics supplied by JAMB should be used for the exercise", Prof. Oloyede admonished the institutions at the Tuesday August 31, 2021 policy meeting. NNL.
