Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Sunday evening, endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as their sole candidate for the party's presidential primaries scheduled on Monday.
Making the confirmation during a press briefing at the Sokoto ADC Secretariat, Alhaji Muktar Umar Magori, the former Chief of Staff to the former Governor of the state now Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, said the resolution was reached after extensive deliberation with all relevant stakeholders.
According to Magori, " This press conference was convened to convey the consensus agreement reached by the people of Sokoto State and the ADC to adopt His Excellency,, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa as the sole Presidential candidate of our great party, the ADC.
"This is sequel to the build up for the forthcoming presidential primaries of the party as well as the 2027 general elections".
Magori who said Atiku Abubakar is highly intelligent and has very cherished leadership prowess capable of taking Nigeria out of its present deplorable situation, appealed to Nigerians to vote out the non performing leadership of APC at all levels come 2027 general elections.
The press briefing which was attended by Sokoto ADC chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu, the state Commission of Information, Alhaji Dahiru Maishanu, former Head of Service, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad as well many other top dignitaries and party members was said to be the begining of their resolution to stand with their leader Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who is said to have confidence in the ability of Atiku Abubakar to reverse Nigeria from it's present sorry state.
