The Bauchi State Government has taken a significant step to improve the welfare of its retirees by increasing the pension minimum wage from N12,000 to N32,000.
The Bauchi State Executive Council (SEC), led by Governor Bala Mohammed, approved the increment during its meeting at the Executive Chamber Wednesday in Bauchi.
According to the Head of Civil Service, Barr. Sani Umar Disina, the new pension minimum wage is a result of the recent Civil Service minimum wage adjustment. The increment is expected to bring relief to retirees in the state.
Barr. Disina commended Governor Bala Mohammed's administration for its commitment to the welfare of civil servants, including retirees. He assured that the implementation process would follow the usual procedures, with a circular to be issued specifying the commencement date.
