Bauchi state governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has promised to complete all the remaining township roads in the State capital during his second term tenure in office.
The Governor made the pledged when he received the Bauchi Emir, Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu and his emirate council members who met with him at the Government House, in Bauchi.
He noted that his administration has accorded high priority on renovation and construction of new roads during his first tenure in office, adding that more additional roads will also be commissioned in his second tenure with a view to ease movement of the people.
The governor told his visitor thus: "Your Royal Highness, the request you've made has been granted. I promised that before the end of my second tenure, all the remaining township roads will be fully built and we promise to build new additional ones",.
Governor Bala Mohammed used the occasion to also sound a warning message to some Islamic scholars in the State who use inciting and provocative words during their sermons or preaching, saying that henceforth, the government will take decisive action against them.
The Governor further said that "the campaign period is over, and therefore, we are not going to tolerate any act capable of creating crisis, division or rancor among our people. Bauchi has been known as a peaceful State irrespective of one's religion, tribe and ethnicity".
He assured of his of government's readiness towards providing the necessary and needed protection of people's lives and properties in the State. NNL.
