Thousands of Bauchi State civil servants have showered encomiums on the governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, for payment of their April salary during the just-concluded Eid-el Fitr celebration.
NIGERIAN NEWSLEADER Newspaper Correspondent who went round the metropolitan areas in the State capital, reports that the workers began to receive their salary alerts for the month of April on the eve of Sallah day while others also got theirs on the Sallah day.
Some of the workers in an interview with NEWSLEADER who could not hide their happiness and joy. One of them, Yakubu Babayo, a staff of the Bauchi State Sports Council and Ibrahim Police of Bauchi State Hospital Management Board, thanked the governor for the gesture.
According to them, the salary came at a right time when the workers in the state were in dire need of the money for the last Sallah celebration.
"Of course, the salary has helped us greatly in the settlement of many issues like our childrens clothes, Sallah foods and other gifts during the season", said Babayo.
The workers also appealed to the governor to settle all outstanding salaries, gratuity and pensions of present and retirees workers in the State. They also prayed for the continued success of his administration to deliver more on the yearning and aspirations of the civil servants in the State.
On the other hand, the market people also joined the workers in thanking the governor and expressed their happiness over the development. NNL.
