Imo State former Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, Dr. Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji, was invited on Monday being the Children's Day, to speak to the pupils at Cypress Palm School, Owerri, about the importance of security and safety around them, as well as careers in the security sector.
Ugorji told the children that security is everyone's business and that their parents are the first security officers in their lives. "If you see or hear something, say something," was the chant of the day during the interaction with the children. Dr. Ugorji, a US-trained Security expert also told the children that Governor Hope Uzodimma is the Chief Security Officer of Imo State, and that the governor made it possible for him to serve as the pioneer Commissioner for Homeland Security in the state.
He said he looked forward to seeing some of the children getting chances to serve as Commissioners in 30 years or so down the road. NNL.
