It was a happy moment and celebration galore as one of Abuja's most academically distinguished and renowned elite school, Crystal Gems International School, marked its 2022 graduation and passing out with a spectacular ceremony.
The event was an occasion in which high performing students of the school bagged awards in different categories of multiple academic disciplines. The graduation took place at the school's compound in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council of the FCT Abuja, and witnessed by a motley and boisterous crowd of parents, dignitaries, students and well - wishers.
Speaking at the occasion, the Proprietress/CEO of the school, Mrs Chioma Philip Ivoke, said the school, especially its secondary arm, has become a breeding ground for future scientists and other professionals as their students have been making their marks on the nation's academic landscape.
She said, "I am thrilled and grateful to God for the opportunity to graduate champions. We are immensely thankful to God for guiding and guarding us through the session. Raising students who will blaze the trail and chart new frontiers is our goal. As a thinking school with a global view, today, we celebrate with these champions who will drive innovation, think critically and solve real life's problems."
Mrs Chioma Ivoke also explained that the school has been "creating the right environment that enhances learning which has been one of our core areas. In Crystal Gems International School, we have given students the opportunity to compete and this is evident in the number of awards we have won and our performance in the external examinations which the students have been part of, such as common Entrance and Basic Education Certificate Examination."
She further disclosed during her interaction with newsmen, that despite the insecurity in the FCT Abuja and environs, there was no need for worry as the school management has put in place arrangements needed and other necessary measures for the optimal security and comfort of the students through adequate synergy with the security agencies and other private/independent security bodies.
The Executive Chairman of the institution and veteran broadcast Journalist, Mr Philip Ivoke, however urged parents and stakeholders of the school to continue to repose their confidence in the ability of the management of the school to continue to give their best for the full intellectual, character and moral development of the child and wards in the school.
He assured that Crystal Gems International School was founded on the principles of academic integrity and hardwork, designed to ensure the success and academic excellence among the products of the school.
Guests and parents who graced the occasion expressed their delight with the academic and institutional standards but in place by the school's management over the years since it's inception. They commended the quality of the graduation and awards event, and urged the management not to relent in their efforts to ensure that both the pupils and students turns out well in their academic endeavors.
