Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi has ordered an immediate suspension from duty to the State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Chief Emmanuel Uguru and the Senior Special Assistant on Education, Dr Obianuju Alo, for alleged acts of negligence and dereliction of duty.

The suspension which, according to governor Umahi's official directive would be a "working suspension" is for one month.

A statement to that effect on Friday, January 7, 2022, by the Secretary to the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner, Ugbala Igwe, said the suspension of the state functionaries was with immediate effect.

The statement reads: “Following the directive of His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE, the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Chief Emmanuel Uguru and SSA to Governor on Education, Dr Obianuju Alo are hereby directed to proceed on one-month working suspension, with immediate effect.

“The working suspension is as a result of negligence and dereliction of duty. All concerned are requested to take note and ensure strict compliance to this directive". NNL.
