Former House of Representatives member for Ogbaru Federal Constituency in Anambra state on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Victor Afam Ogene, has lost his beloved mother, Madam Ezinne Theresa Ogene, aged 77 years.

Hon. Ogene, a senior journalist and former editor of one of Nigeria's leading newsmagazine, the SOURCE, published by respected veteran Journalist, Comfort Obi, will bury his deceased mother on Friday, March 4, 2022, in his home town Obeagwe, in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra state.

According to a funeral statement on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 on behalf of the family by Hon. Victor Ogene, a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state and a former House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Media and Publicity between 2011 - 2015, the body of his late mother, Ezinne Thessy Ogene, would be laid to rest after a Requiem Mass at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Obeagwe, Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State.

Hon. Ogene who was Director, Media and Publicity of the APC Gubernatorial Campaign in Anambra State in the Saturday, November 6, 2021 election, also stated that burial of his mother would be preceded by a christian wake on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at her family compound in Obeagwe, Ogbaru, Anambra state.

The statement said the late Ezinne Theresa Ogene was a devout Catholic who contributed greatly to the development of the church in her community.

She is survived by, amongst others, several children and grandchildren, including Comrade Emeka Ogene, a former National President of the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and other Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI), and Rev. Fr. Paul Nonso Ogene. NNL.
