The North East Elders and Youth Peoples Forum (NEEYPF) have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the re-appointment of Goni Ibrahim Alkali as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North East Development Commission NEDC
The Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Salihu Magaji, stated this in Bauchi at a Press Conference held at the Hazibal International Conference hall. He said with the re-appointment of Goni, the President has proven himself as a master strategist and a true Nigerian patriot whose interest is to build a Nigeria that works for all.
Magaji said, “The caliber of people just appointed by Mr. President especially a quintessential leader who has proven himself like Goni Alkali has proved what most of us already know about his ability to spot talent and reward hardwork.
“We the members of our forum in the entire North East are happy that The President found our leader , mentor, and brother, a man of the people, a workaholic, a patriot like Goni Alkali worthy of the appointment as the Managing Director, NEDC.
“Goni Alkali, has over the years, proven himself to be a reliable leader who cares about the welfare and wellbeing of the North East and Nigerians across the region and beyond.
“We are confident and assured, Mr. President, Vice President Kashim Shettima that North East , Nigerians will benefit immensely from his wealth of experience, competence and commitment to national development.
“We are also confident that with the calibre of technocracts like Goni Alkali who works tirelessly to improve the well being of the citizenry, Mr President will leave a legacy projects in the North East and Nigeria.
While congratulating the re-appointed MD, Magaji said Alkali, as an achiever, will continue to give exemplary leadership that will genuinely rebuild the North East region and beyond and which will also justify the confidence reposed in him through completion and execution of more viable projects that will re-develop the region.
He assured Alkali of continued support of all stake holders in the region for him to succeed.
“We appeal to Nigerians to support the Federal government initiatives to transform the country and to continue to maintain the peace and be law abiding because the country belongs to all of us and we must not do anything to destroy it". NNL.
