A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the Civil Society Groups for Good Governance has lauded the dialogue with bandits initiative of the governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle led Zamfara state government.
The President of the Group, Comrade Obakwu Dominic, while speaking at a press conference at the end of the group's independent assessment tour in Zamfara state applauded the efforts of governor Matawalle in tackling insecurity challenges facing the state through dialogue initiative
"The peace reconciliation process initiated by the state government under the leadership of governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle is a welcome development as peace is returning to the state.
"The federal government and government of states battling with banditry need to key into the peace reconciliation process to bring to an end the activities of the bandits and other nefarious criminals," he said.
Dominic also commended governor Matawalle for establishing the Rural Grazing Area RUGA settlements.
"The RUGA projects when completed will not only give a sense of belonging to the herders but will also go a long way in curbing farmers herders crisis in the he country," he said.
Dominic expressed optimism over the declaration of state of emergency in education sector.
He said the declaration of state of emergency by governor Matawalle in the education sector will create enabling environment and improve the rate of enrolment in the schools.
"We must say kudos to governor Matawalle on how he handled the education system of Zamfara as no nation can be develop without education," he said.
On health care delivery services, the group described the governor as the pillar of health care delivery services.
"We visited one of the ongoing hospital projects in Shinkafi local government area. The project from all indications when completed will provide succour and assist the people of Zamfara and neighboring state to get qualitative health care," he said. NNL
