Notable elders and frontline political Leaders under the auspices of Okigwe Global Elders Forum (OKGEF) will meet on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in what was described as a "strategic meeting" of the leaders and people of Okigwe zone.
The meeting holds at 12 noon in the country home of one of its prominent leaders, Chief Tony Chukwu, in Umueze 1, Okigwe, Imo State.
The invitees expected at the weekend zonal conclave, apart from the convener, Chief Tony Chukwu, are: former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu, his brother, Chief Cosmas Iwu, Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, former governor of Imo state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Senator Frank Ibezim and Senators-elect, Engr. Patrick Ndubeze.
Others are: Chief Longers Anyanwu, a former Commissioner for Agriculture in Imo state and political Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC); Sitting Members and Members Elect of the Federal House of Representatives in Okigwe zone; Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, (DG NEPAD); Sitting Members and members Elect of IMHA in Okigwe zone and the Sole Administrators of the 6 LGAs in Imo state.
Invitees also expected at the meeting includes, Government appointees of 3R government; His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Amamchukwu Amatu (Catholic Bishop of Okigwe Dioceses); His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. David Onuoha (The Arch Bishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province) and His Eminence, Samuel Uche (Prelate emeritus of the Methodist Church of Nigeria.
There are others like, His Lordship Rt Rev. Dr. G U Ukanwa PHD (Anglican Bishop of ISI Mbano); His Lordship Bishop Godwin Ebere Nwachukwu.
