Some of the worker's interviewed by NEWSLEADER and who spoke under anonymous conditions, said the reason behind the low turn out was as a result of the fuel subsidy removal and economic hardship being experienced in the state and in the country at large.

Ibrahim Sani, a staff of Bauchi state government at Abubakar Umar Secretariat, said the situation is becoming worrisome because majority of the worker's are finding it very difficult to pay too much (to and fro) from office and back to their respective planes of abode due to high cost of fuel as well as the transportation fees.

Corroborating, a staff of the Ministry of Works at the federal secretariat whose name is withheld, said that most worker's nowadays prepare to come two to three times a week due to high cost of fuel and transportation fees.
