The Network Against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour (NACTAL), on Monday, submitted a Memorandum to the National Assembly's House of Representatives Committee on Human Rights on the amendment of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act (TIPPEA) of 2015.

Submitting NACTAL's possition during the public hearing at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, it's National President, Abdulganiyu Abubakar, noted that they are completely in support of the amendment.

This amendment, according to Abdulganiyu Abubakar, will help, amongst other things, to strengthen Nigeria's response against Human Trafficking.

While giving specific areas of concerns, the NACTAL President insisted that there are good justifications for the amendment.

Recall that, NACTAL Nigeria with support from USAID- SCALE, Nigeria have hosted stakeholders to review and make inputs on the necessary amendments that was presented at the hearing.

A statement by NACTAL Nigeria, Communication Knowledge Management Officer, Damilola Agbaje, revealed that both the National President, Abdulgaiyu Abubakar as well as representatives from the National and State Executive of NACTAL and the Project Team were among the delegates present at the hearing.

Also in attendance were other government agencies such as NAPTIP, FIDA, NIS, NHRC, UNODC, Federal Ministry of Labour, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities and other observers. NNL.
