- * Call On Members To Work Collectively For Progress

The newly elected executive officers of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Bauchi State chapter, has been call upon to work in collective collaboration in the interest and progress of the Association in the state.
The call was made by the chairman of the occasion, Justice Lamido Kabir Umar, during his inauguration speech at the High Court No 1 in Bauchi.
He urge them to carry all members of the NBA along in the interest and progress of the Association as that will make members happy to be associated with their leadership.
While calling on the new executive officers to justify the confidence reposed in them, Justice Kabir used the occasion to appeal to all members of the Association to join hands and support the new executive for the good of the Association. He also wished them well in their service tenure.
The immediate past Chairman of the Association in the State, Barrister Jibrin S. Jibrin, appreciated members of the Association for giving him the opportunity to serve them for the past two years. He said he had enjoined good working relationship with all the members which was responsible for achieving what he had achieved during his tenure.
He therefore called on members to support the new executive officers of the Association in order to make their fruitful contributions for the upliftment of the NBA in the state and in the country as a whole.
Earlier, the newly elected Chairman of Bauchi branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Ibrahim Danjuma, thanked all members for having confidence in him, and promised not to disappoint them.
Danjuma who described the NBA as the matchless professional Association in Nigeria and the largest and most vibrant Bar Association in Africa, however commended the senior members of the Branch from both public and private bar.
He said that, "I fully understand the responsibilities that you all have bestowed upon me, the great opportunity you have provided us with your votes and support. We feel deeply grateful and admired.
"Whether or not you voted for me in the just concluded election of our dear branch, I want you to know that I am dedicated to serving you. When we work together, not as S.G. Idrees or U.B. Babayo Camp, but as members of one and united Branch, I know that we can accomplish great things during these uncertain times.
"I must not fail to pay special tribute to My co-contestants for the office of the chairman. The participation of three of us was a very keenly contested race and any one of us could have ended up, fittingly, as Chairman of our dear branch. I want to use this medium to extend my hands of friendship to both of them to join hands with me in working for the elevation and growth of our Branch. I shall persist, undeterred, in this endeavor until success is achieved, by the Grace of God".
He however thanked members of the electoral committee for a job well done and for their patience and co-operation throughout the elevation period.
NIGERIAN NEWSLEADER Newspaper Correspondent reports that the newly elected executive members will run the affairs of the State NBA Chapter for the next two years, starting from July 2023-2025.
Other highlights of the occasion was the taking of oath of office by the newly elected executive committee members that has Dr. Ibrahim Danjuma as Chairman, Barrister Auwal Ibrahim as Secretary, Barrister Adamu Tanko Jibrin PRO and Barr. Muhammad Sani Umar respectively among others. NNL.
