The management of Niger Tornadoes Football club of Minna has granted its players a 10-day holiday to celebrate the New Year with their families and loved ones.
This is coming as the Ikon Allah boys rounded up the years outings with a 1-0 home defeat by the visiting, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu during the encounter that took place at the Bako Kontagora stadium, Minna last Sunday.
Chairman of Niger Tornadoes FC, Engineer Ibrahim Dada who approved the 10-day break while wishing the players safe journeys to and from the various destinations, however cautioned against undermining their fitness while holidaying.
The essence of the holiday is to enable the players spend time with families and loved ones, the Club Chairman said as he reminded them of the need to avoid acts capable of affecting their performances when the league resumes.
The league has been halted for the half season break to resume on the 19th of January, 2025.
The Ikon Allah Boys will resume their NPFL campaign with a return away match against Enugu Rangers International to rekindle their early season momentum in the second stanza.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Majin, the Chief Coach of Niger Tornadoes in an interview described the home loss as a temporary setback, but expressed optimism that the team will bounce back stronger.
