The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Bauchi Chapter, has expressed shock and despair over the death of the former Bauchi State Commissioner of health, Dr Zuwaira Hassan, who died in an accident on Monday at Zaranda Village in Bauchi metropolis, saying that her death is a big loss to the medical association and the people of the state.

The State Chairman of the association, Dr Adamu Sambo, stated this on Tuesday during a press conference to mark the flagoff of activities for the 2020 Nigeria Medical Association week with theme, "Strategies for Health System Recovery during the COVID 19 pandemic in Nigeria", held at the Maigoro plaza in Bauchi.

He said that late Zuwaira was an active and fulfilled member of the medical association in the state adding that medical week is dedicated to her for numerous achievements in the health sector.

"The death of Zuwaira came as a shock, not only to us, but to everyone in the state. She was an active member of this association who has made tremendous impact in the health sector, particularly when she was Commissioner"

"This medical week is dedicated to her, in order to give her the honour to a life of dedication and commitment to her work. We will miss her greatly as her absence has formed a vaccum in our hearts that will be difficult to fill.I pray that Allah comfort the family, the entire people of the state and grant her soul Aljannah Firdaus" he said

He described the late Commissioner as a very humble, kind, simple and easy-going person, pointing out nobody can fault her for anything as she always carry everybody along in the discharge of her duties. NNL.
