By Nasir Shuaibu (Bauchi State Correspondent)

The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has announced plans to strengthen its institutional framework as part of efforts to improve governance and policy coordination across the region.

At its meeting in Abuja, the Forum resolved to reposition its secretariat through structural reforms and digitisation initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and continuity.

Chairman of the Forum and Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, said the move would bolster the capacity of Northern states for strategic engagement and effective policy implementation.

The communiqué highlighted the Forum’s commitment to building a solid institutional foundation that supports coordinated development efforts.

In addition, the governors agreed to engage consultants to explore ways of improving revenue generation across the region, particularly by identifying and optimizing taxable sources.

The Forum noted that these measures are critical to addressing developmental challenges and ensuring sustainable growth. NNL.
