Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, as not only a young talented man but dynamic and performing as well.
Obasanjo who spoke in Sokoto a day after laying the foundation for the Runjin Sambo fly over the bridge within the metropolis added that he is still at a loss how Tambuwal is performing despite the lean IGR of his State and the harsh economic realities of Nigeria.
The former President while stressing that Tambuwal is one politician whose love for humanity goes beyond his immediate State, Obasanjo added that the Sokoto State governor is also playing a great role amongst Governor's of the North West region, especially in efforts towards restoring security, plays commendable role amongst his Governor colleagues and in his party, the PDP as well.
Said former president Obasanjo: "I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be able to accept the governor's invitation to see at first hand the works he is doing. And in the last 24 hours, within the metropolis I have seen the construction of bridges, flyover and I have the opportunity of laying the foundation for one of the flyover.
"I have also seen one of the ultra modern diagnostic centers, I have seen the Girls Academy, I have the General Hospitals, I have seen the Teaching Hospital. I have seen the Sports Complex. And when you take the present economic situation.
"With what I have seen that is going on simultaneously at the same time, despite the situation of insecurity, and bad economy with the present Covid 19, you will then wonder how is Tambuwal making all these things possible particularly with the low level of the State Internally Generated Revenue".
Drawing a simple summary of his assessment of the administration, Obasanjo, the former Head of State and two term democratically elected president of Nigeria said he will agree with people that Tambuwal is dynamic.
"That Tambuwal is a dynamic and performing governor, I will agree with you. Especially, looking at what he is doing not only in his State but what he is doing also within the north west amongst his colleagues in the area of handling the issue of insecurity.
"I also know what he is doing in the country amongst his colleagues governors and what he is doing in his party.
"So, Tambuwal is one talented young man and I pray that God will continue to grant him the strength, the wisdom and the ability to continue to do what he is doing and even more'. NNL.
