Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing, Kaduna state chapter, has condemned the kidnapped of Ezeigbo Gbagyi Chiefdom, His Highness, Eze Fred Awagu Ekwedasike Gburugburu,( Odum Igbo 1) and others who were kidnapped on Thursday at Ungwa Gimbiya community, Kaduna state.
In a statement by the President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths Wing, Kaduna state chapter, High Chief Christopher Columbus German and made available to Journalists in Kaduna, the youths called for the release of those abducted.
It would be recalled that His Highness Eze Fred Awagu Ekwedasike Gburugburu, was among the over 50 people who were kidnapped in Ungwa Gimbiya, Chikun local government area of Kaduna state on Thursday night last week.
The statement said, ”We also condemned the killing of innocent souls during the attack by this mindless killer and we pray for the repose of their souls, and also the quick release of those abducted”.
The Igbo Youth President lamented that His Highness Gburugburu is over 76 years old to be in the hands of these criminals, he said, adding that “He is a man who believes in fairness and equity. We pray no harm befalls him, and others too in captivity with him”.
The President who is also known as Ochinanwata 1, lamented that the insecurity in the country is getting from bad to worst every day. “We are now at the mercy of God. Those who took the oath of office in their individual Holy Books to protect lives and property of its citizens seems to have forgotten”.
He, therefore, called on the government at all levels to live up to their responsibility of protecting the lives and property of Nigerians. He also called on the Kaduna state government to ensure the rescue of its traditional father and all those who are still in the kidnapper's den. NNL.
