The rift within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has deepened following fresh allegations by the Senior Special Assistant on Youth to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Sale Chiroma, against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Chiroma accused Wike of plotting to undermine Governor Bala Mohammed politically and destabilise Bauchi State, allegedly using tactics similar to the Rivers State political conflict.
The aide made the claim while reacting to recent allegations linking the governor to terrorism, which he dismissed as false and politically motivated.
According to Chiroma, the accusations are part of a broader attempt to weaken the governor for refusing to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to ensure due diligence in handling politically sensitive cases, warning against the misuse of state institutions for witch-hunting.
The disagreement between the two political figures dates back to last year’s PDP leadership crisis, which resulted in factional leadership structures and disagreements over the party’s national direction.
The political feud resurfaced recently during the PDP convention and the swearing-in of party executives in Abuja, further widening divisions within the opposition party. NNL.
