Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice, on Sunday, issued a public disclaimer against one Mr Mahmoud Abdullahi who was arrested by police detectives in Karu, Abuja, for allegedly stealing iPhone 17 Pro Max belonging to an aide of Lagos State governor.

The phone, according to reports, was stolen on Saturday at the Eagle Square Abuja during the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention.

The Ministry in a swift statement on Sunday shortly after the arrest of the suspected phone thief, said categorically that Mr Mahmoud Abdullahi "is not a staff member of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice, nor is he affiliated with the Ministry in any capacity".

The disclaimer says "while the incident reportedly occurred during the APC National Convention, the attempt to link the suspect to the Ministry is false, misleading, and should be disregarded.

"The Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice remains a professional and ethical institution, committed to upholding justice, integrity, and the rule of law. The Ministry does not condone criminal activities or any form of misconduct.

"The public and media are urged to verify information before dissemination to prevent reputational damage to credible institutions". NNL.
