SUN Newspaper Publisher and Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has lost his wife, Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu.
Kalu's wife, according to a short statement by the lawmaker, passed on in the United States of America (USA) on Monday, at the age of 61 years.
Although the cause of her death was not immediately stated by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu himself who announced his wife's passage on one of his verified social media handle (Facebook), he mourned his beloved wife with "a heavy heart".
The former governor of Abia state however described his late wife as a woman of virtues who was committed to the service of God and humanity. He added that a memorial service in her honour is scheduled to hold in the United States of America (USA).
Kalu wrote: “With a heavy heart and pain, we announce the passing on to eternal glory of Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu aged 61 years.
“She was a woman of virtue who was committed to the service of God and humanity.
“A memorial service in her honour is scheduled to hold in the United States of America (USA).
“Please remember her and loved ones in prayers during this difficult period.
“May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.” NNL.
