A brown colour two storey student's lodge building located in the premises of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) in Ebonyi state, South East, Nigeria, collapsed this Friday morning at about 8am.
Eye witness account disclosed that no life was lost in the unfortunate incident but the building popularly called "pentagon lodge" is said to have been substantially destroyed from the left side of the structure.
Already, the authorities of the institution and the owners of the building have been alerted to the development and efforts are said to be ongoing to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the building collapse and how the debris could be cleared for renovation to take place.
Students of the institution and tenants of the ill-fated lodge have expressed great joy that no life was involved in the unfortunate incident. NNL.
