Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has enjoined his political opponents who lost to him at the Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to join hands with his administration to uplift the State and her people.
Kefas who was elated at his victory journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital after the judgment, that the outcome of the judgment is the direct reflection of the will of majority of the people of Taraba state who elected him as the governor.
The governor who thanked the judicial team for doing their job professionally, also extends the hand of fellowship to other parties especially the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP).
"I want to see this judgement as a victory for all the people of Taraba state, as such I want to call on all parties to join hands with me to bring the dividends of democracy for the people of Taraba state. I call on all parties to work with me instead of engaging in legal battles which only consumes our time and resources which we would have used to develop our state", he said.
The Taraba State Governorship election Tribunal sitting in Jalingo on Saturday affirmed Governor Agbu Kefas of the people's Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected governor, after it dismissed a petition filed by Prof. Sani Yahaya, governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP, challenging the March 18 election.
The presiding judge, justice G.A Sumonu ruled that Professor Sani Yahaya's petition lack merit and stood dismissed.
Affirming the election of governor Agbu Kefas, the tribunal ruled that Yahaya failed to prove the allegations in his petition beyond reasonable doubt. NNL.
